It is with great pleasure to write this first feature, not just on one of the Board Members but also BOARD MEMBER OF THE YEAR! Board Members vote on the member tehy think has contributed the most to their association. The winners from each of the Florida associations are announced at the Florida State Bluegrass Festival in Perry, FL.

Congratulations to DOUG LEDFORD on being elected North Florida Bluegrass Association's BOARD MEMBER OF THE YEAR. Doug has been a member of NFBA for about 16 years and served his first term as Membership Director in 1992. Since then, he has been Membership Director for 10 of the last 15 years. Without Doug's dedication to NFBA we would not have grown as an assoiciation from about 350 in 1992 to over 1,000 family memberships strong today.

Doug takes his NFBA responsibilities seriously. The NFBA membership table is set up and open for business at all of the NFBA montly pickings as well as the pickings in the parks and local area bluegrass festivals. It doesn't matter if Doug is eating dinner or picking in the hottest jam session going on - he doesn't hesitate to stop whatever he is doing to promote the NFBA and bluegrass music.

We are fortunate to have Doug as one of NFBA's Board Members. His efforts are an asset for us all.
