Dear NFBA Members,
We're gearing up for our concert at Dixieland Music Park in Waldo at the NFBA
picking in September (9/15 - 9/17). Performances will begin at 2 p.m. and will
feature young, talented musicians -- Coastal Blue, Sweetwater Special, and
RYAN HOLLADAY. This is part of our Music in the Schools program in which we want
to increase awareness and interest in bluegrass music. At the concert we will be
giving out coloring books, which contain information about the instruments and
history of bluegrass. Dixieland Music Park has arranged for additional vendors
on site and has also invited some special guests to see the performances.
The place to be in November is the NFBA Expo, which is held November 17-19 at
Twin Oaks Music Park in Hoboken. Vendors are being lined up and workshops are
being scheduled. Our organization has some extraordinary talent in our membership
bands. This is our opportunity to showcase them in one weekend. Performance slots
are filling quickly so be sure to contact Don Pierce (Band Coordinator) to add your
band to the schedule.
When you attend these NBFA events, don't hesitate to introduce yourself to your
Board members -- we all wear badges with our name and Board position. It's a great
opportunity for us to meet more of our 1,000+ members. Feel free to let us know if
you have any suggestions to make our organization better. We want to hear from you.
